Botswana immigration regulations

Posted by on Jul 23, 2015 in Latest News, News

Please be advised that Botswana Immigration are now enforcing similar visa regulations to South Africa, applicable to all minors entering andexiting Botswana.

Whilst these have been “in place” for some time, they are only now starting to enforce them in order to support the regional anti-child trafficking efforts.  The key difference between South Africa and Botswana is that South Africa requires the unabridged birth certificate while Botswana does not.  Secondly, Botswana will accept both the original or a certified copy.  (South Africa requires an original copy)

At this time, I do not have the official updated Government communication but would like to forewarn all families looking to visit Botswana to be prepared accordingly.

Botswana offers a wide variety of typographies and wildlife habitats including the Okavango Delta which is now a World Heritage Site.  With winter upon us, its a perfect time to visit Botswana.  Did you know that mosquitoes are other bugs are dormant in the winter months and that the thin vegetation makes it easy to spot game and its also at this time of the year that the floods reach the Okavango Delta, the Khwai River and the Savute Channel.
