Kenya Airways to resume flights to Bangui, CAR

From November 2015, Kenya Airways will resume flights to Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic. Twice weekly flights directly from Nairobi, Kenya and from Bangui on-wards to Douala, Cameroon.  The flights will be operated in a Boeing 737-800. The Red Headed Picathartes bird

On a recent trip to the Dzanga-Sangha National Reserve in the Central African Republic, I was fortunate enough to see a very rare bird – the Red Headed Picathartes. This beautiful bird nests in the rainy season, building a unique clay nest on a rock face overhang. Patience is the key as I wait, a good few hours, for the bird’s return. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Mountain Gorillas

It has been established that there are now 11 habituated mountain gorilla groups in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda. Uganda Wildlife Authority are now selling a total of 88 permits per day. A permit entitles a visitor to one hour’s viewing from the time the gorilla group is located. Conflict in the DRC

Recent conflict in the DRC has pushed many refugees over into Uganda. Problem is that these refugees bring harmful viruses which in the end, could affect the locals + mountain gorilla population. Whilst many have crossed over, it is still safe to visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the majority of refugees just looking for a safe haven.
