Important: Tanzania VAT announcement The new VAT bill is effective from 01 July 2016. The previously exempted services include tourist guiding, game drives, water safaris, animal or bird watching, park fees, charter services and ground transport. In terms of the new regulations, these services will now be subject to an 18% VAT charge, resulting in increased rates for all lodge and ground-handling services.
